Bollmann's challenge: Finals

An award-winner will head to the Susnhine Coast to make a finals push with a new club.

Heading into 2025, two-time Defensive Player of the Year Erin Bollmann has some new colours – signing with the Sunshine Coast Phoenix in November.

“I'm getting a little older, but I thought Sunshine Coast is a building year. I see some amazing players coming into fruition on our team,” she said.

“The general manager (Sean Page) is great, our coach Jamie Glover is new and great. I just thought it would be a really cool opportunity to build with the team and come together. It's going to be so fun.”

Having played against the Phoenix in previous seasons with Darwin and Northside, Bollmann has seen the program slowly develop each season. With the club finishing outside the top six in 2024, the NBL1 North First-Team member has one goal this season: finals.

“Finals baby, I think it's an awesome opportunity for us to figure it out as one,” she said.

“It's a new crew, new coaches, new everything. I'm just excited to see day by day how it goes.”

With the season tipping off this weekend, Bollmann explained why you need to tune in.

“May 1st, I'm playing, we're going to have so many teams ready. We're going to be competitive this year. There's new gear, new crew, new coaches. I'm excited,” she said.

“Let's go Sunshine Coast!”

The season starts on Thursday night as the Gold Coast Rollers host the Ipswich Force live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
