Opal and WNBL player Kristy Wallace has signed with the Knox Raiders for the 2025 NBL1 South season.
Wallace last played in the NBL1 back in 2022 with the Melbourne Tigers. Since that season, she has played across the globe for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, Indiana Fever, the WNBL’s (former) Melbourne Boomers and for the Opals – most notably in Paris this past Olympics.
Great basketball news tonight with Olympian Kristy Wallace returning to the court with Knox for the remainder of the NBL1 season.
She has taken time away from the game and healed her body post a hectic 2024.
She joins the consistently strong women’s Raiders side, who went 20-2 last regular season and started 2025 with a 5-1 record. Now playing alongside Alicia Froling, Paige Bradley, Rachel Bell, and Kiera Glover (nee Rowe), Knox is set up to be a true title contender with the likes of Keilor, Waverley, and Geelong.
Knox head coach Al Westover said this signing may be the piece to put them over the championship barrier
"This is a monumental moment for our club," he said.
"Kristy is not just a phenomenal basketball player, but an inspiring leader who elevates everyone around her. Her signing signals our intent to compete at the highest level and chase a championship this season."
Knox also signed collegiate player and regional Victorian product Agnes Emma-Nnopu on the same day, adding to their immense depth.
The Knox Raiders will host the Hobart Chargers on Saturday, streaming live from 6:00pm AEST via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
